Drying tears, finding socks,
cooking dinners, Toddler Tantrums, Teenage Dilemmas. You’re the one who knows
when to give that big hug or little word of encouragement that can make all the
difference.
A special kiss from Mum can make everything ok again. The little
things that add up over the days, months and years. For Mother’s Day, even though
you won’t be able to switch off for every single minute – because no Mum ever
gets the whole day off, Try and put your feet up and relax properly with a good
book and a box of chocolates or your favourite celeb magazines.
Get dad to make Tea and the
packed lunches and even try the Ironing if you are brave enough to let him although
knowing what I am like I wouldn't be able to just sit and watch.
Realistically Mother’s day is
the same as any other day, Jobs to do and family to care for, Our own mums to visit and with me also my Nana. Some mums also have the Mother-in-Law to buy for.
My head gets in such a spin with who to visit and when you start to forget that really this day is for you too, but when you read the words your children write
in their cards and that first hug and kiss of the day when the kids run in and
jump on the bed makes all the very hard work we do worth it.
Although at the time of writing
this I am unsure if my husband and children even know its Mother’s Day in the
Morning so we shall have to wait and see what is in store for me.
If they forget I may decide to have a strop and go on strike for the day
Whoever you are spending Mothers day try and enjoy it with the ones you love.
