Trading Card's Review!
Long Gone are the days when children collected just stickers for their sticker books, children now have so much more variety when it comes to collecting stickers and trading cards.
Topps kindly sent me a collection of just some of their Trading cards that can be bought in stores now.
Jake is a huge trading card collector and when Skylanders brought out trading cards I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel with excitement.
So imagine how happy he was to find Topps had not only sent us a collectors binder but also a Skylanders collectors Tin.
The Skylanders Giants starter pack priced at £4.99 comes with a collector Binder, collectors guide, 6 cards plus 1 very special Limited Edition card that can not be found in any packs,so for a collector this starter set is a must.
The Binder is filled with pouches with individual sleeves to fit every card in there that you can collect in this series.
I can imagine it must look pretty impressive when filled with the brightly coloured & well illustrated cards.
The collectors guide opens up into a giant poster showing every card that can be collected from the basic cards to the rare Lightcore Characters and Skylanders Giants cards.
You will defiantly know when your child has found one of these as I did when I heard Jake shouting & screaming from the other room that he had found one of the best cards in the series.
I watched him carefully place his card in the Binder to display with pride.
The collectors guide also has a Skylanders Quiz just for fun to test there Skylanders Knowledge.
The card packs can be purchased from Toy-stores, Newsagents and some super markets and are an affordable £0.75 pence per pack.
The Skylanders Tin also comes with an exclusive card Limited Edition Dark Spyro,35 Collectors cards and a Skylanders Dog Tag a great gift for Easter and costs £9.99 which I think is a great price for everything you get in the tin.
The Dog Tags are a new edition to the Skylanders Range these are great to both collect and wear and are a very reasonable pocket money price of £1.50 each, unfortunately you do not know which dog tag you will get so it could cost you quite a lot of money and a lot of swaps to collect the whole set.
Hopefully your child will have friends who also collect the dog tags and can swap there doubles between them.
They look pretty impressive though as you can tell from the collection Jake is displaying in this photo.
Star Wars also have a Starter Pack which is priced at £3.99 which includes a Collector Binder, Game Guide, Game Mat, 1 packet of Star Wars Force Attax Trading Cards and a very special Limited Edition Jedi Knight which can only be found in this Starter Pack - Bargain!
The trading cards packs are slightly cheaper than the Skylanders at only 60 pence per pack.
Star Wars Force Attax also has a very cool looking Star wars tin with Darth Marl on the front, this Tin includes 26 Regular cards, 3 Mirror foil cards, 1 Rainbow foil card and a very exclusive Limited Edition Darth Maul card which just like the Skylander Tin this card is only available inside by purchasing this tin so is a must for any Star Wars Trading card collector.
It is priced at £9.99 so is more expensive than the starter pack but with the amount of cards included it really boosts your collection and would make a great gift for children to save up their pocket money for.
For Wrestling fans like little Riley here Topps do a mega WWE Slam Attax Rebellion pack which contains a collector binder, Game guide & Game Mat, WWE kids sampler magazine, 1 pack of Slam Attax cards plus a very special Limited Edition Dolph Ziggler card all for £4.99 phew!!!
With the Wrestling cards you get 10 trading cards per pack and only cost £1.00 so these are a really good buy.
A very big craze at the moment which most of you will know about is 'Moshi Monsters' and my Niece Lydia screamed with excitement when she got her hands on the Moshi Monster Starter pack.
This Starter pack includes A Game Guide, Collector Binder, Mash up and Code breakers Game Mat, A Red Lens Card,1 packet of Trading cards and a very special Limited Edition Bobbi Singsong card which is exclusive to this starter pack.
I love how cute these cards are, very colourful and shiny and defiantly more aimed for girls than the other Trading cards although I do know of many Boys who also love Moshi Monsters.
This Starter pack is £4.99 and the packets of cards are priced at £0.75 pence each and 1 card per pack contains a code for the on-line Moshi Monsters game.
Moshi Monsters also do a very very cute Codebreaker Tin priced at £9.99, not only does this contain 20 cards including a very special Peek-A-Boo card and a Super Fan Dog Tag but the tin itself is fantastic for storing your cards in or anything else that takes your fancy.
In my opinion for practically the same price of a kids magazine you can instead buy one of these starter sets and have fun that lasts far longer than just a few hours and start a collection building.
I think all the cards I have spoken about are realistically priced,of good quality card,The folders are not flimsy and do not fall apart when you try to insert the cards in.
They also give me something that when I am out and about I can buy for my son as a small treat, I buy the cards for him for getting a good report at his school Parents Evening, For producing some fantastic homework, or as a treat when he comes shopping with me.
I have bought him a few packets to go with his Easter Egg so less chocolate, more fun and less visits to the Dentist - happy Day's for all.
Visit the Topps website for more information on all these products and to purchase direct from Topps.
