Premier Inn Hotel Castleford Review Xscape

My husband and I visited the premier inn hotel at xscape Castleford for an overnight stay, after checking in we took our very heavy large overnight bag which my husband kept on reminding me we were only there for the night but a girl has to pack for every eventuality.
Our first impression of our room was it was very large, light and airy and spotlessly clean.
The bed was just right on the comfy scale and I soon found extra pillows to make it even more perfect.
Our room had a large sofa which I expect is used as a sofa bed for children but as mine were at grandmas for the night we used it to sit back and have a hot drink from the complimentary refreshments.
The room had a separate small shower and toilet area yet the shower was huge and even had a seat in so great for disabled guests and children, complimentary shower/hair was found in a pump dispenser on the wall.
The sink area was in the main room and above was a fantastic mirror that was just right for applying my make up whilst getting ready for my evening meal.
Evening meals and breakfast can be booked as an “ultimate deal” for £22.00 per person and for this you can enjoy 3 courses from the meal deal menu, a glass of wine, beer or soft drink and the Premier breakfast.
We booked our table in the restaurant on arrival and were seated straight away by the most helpful lady called colleen, she was extremely complimentary, helpful and friendly. We ordered from the 2 course meal deal at £10.99 a head, i choose the Spring vegetable Risotto recommended to me and my husband chose a 10oz Rump Steak both meals were extremely well presented and so tasty both our plates were left clean, my husband kindly requested I add “it was the nicest steak I have ever tasted and cooked perfectly”.
For desert we both choose the baked vanilla cheesecake and this again came looking too good to eat topped with vanilla ice-cream and fruit compote.
We left the restaurant extremely satisfied and like we had made a new friend in Coleen.
After a fantastically well earned good night’s sleep we went down for breakfast, both actually still feeling full from the night before, the self service option was incredible fruits, yogurts, crumpets, toast ,muffins to name but a few of the items available and then there was the hot counter serving scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and tomatoes. We were then told by yet another super friendly member of staff if there was anything else we wanted like vegetarian sausage, poached eggs ect the chef would be happy to make it for us, But after the feast that was already laid out we  happily declined.  A  few Costa Coffees later (included in the Premier Breakfast) we packed our bags and left feeling like we had stayed in a 4 star hotel yet with a 2 star price tag, the customer service received from all the staff was outstanding  and left us feeling totally relaxed and rejuvenated.
I would defiantly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a night away with or without children and the restaurant is open  to all you do not have to be a guest to sample this fine menue, and with the amount of restaurants located all around the hotel this restaurant is very reasonably priced but with exceptional quality food.
We are looking forward to visiting again soon and feel we have found a little known gem with this restaurant and an exceptionally low priced hotel which doesn’t cut corners on quality.
