TGI Friday Review at Xscape Castleford

Thank goodness it’s Friday!
My Family and I had a table booked at TGI Friday’s on a Friday which my children thought was cool.
From the outside with the entrance way decorated in a magnificent TGI style you could tell this restaurant was going to live up to a truly American style establishment.
Inside the restaurant was decorated with American memorabilia and even a full size motorbike was used for decoration, the restaurant was 3 times the size I was expecting and more breath-taking .

We were seated straight away in a very comfy oversized table with tonnes of space and our server was on hand to take our drinks order and hand us our menus.
After browsing through our mighty 15 page menus whilst sipping our Diet cokes and Oreo Milkshakes (which are truly delicious) My son and I decided to share The Cheese Nachos starter which serves 2-3 people, My husband chose the Boneless wings and the children shared a portion of Garlic Ciabatta bread.
When the Cheese Nachos arrived topped with gooey melted Colby cheese and spicy jalapenos and 4 different dips they were nothing like any other starter we had ordered before. The plate was loaded with nachos that were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of dips. Our table soon started sharing all our starters between us so we could all have a little taste of everything as they all looked and smelt so good.
My husband who cannot even stand to be in the room if we open a packet of Nachos soon was sampling our starter and to all our amazement loved them, but since then we have tried him with standard nachos and has decided he only likes nachos from TGI Friday’s.
After help and lots of patience from our server for main course choices and some information on TGI’s that the kids all wanted to know like this is the 3rd biggest TGI’s in the UK we decided on our main courses.
My husband and eldest son both went for the Friday’s Burger, my youngest son the cheeseburger and my daughter Chicken strips, whilst  I choose the San Fran Veggie sandwich which is an impressive meat free burger packed with sweet corn, kidney beans, carrot ,Monterey jack cheese, grilled red peppers, onions, black beans and jalapenos with Mexican style seasnings, coated in parsley breadcrums.Topped with gooey melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and red onion and served on a toasted bun all this and only £7.99 and that comes with fries and salad. This is a really refreshing change and surprise to me that not every restaurant just expects vegetarians to eat lentils and lettuce TGI’s really know what we vegetarians really like.

When the food arrived it was presented and brought to us in such a high standard, everyone’s arrived together by three members of staff so there was no waiting around we could all dive straight in and dive in is what we did.

I have never seen us all as quite as we were enjoying every mouthful and all the different tastes.
The Friday’s Burger which is a whopping 14oz of 100% Cajun beef, two burgers stacked high with bacon, cheese and 4 crispy onion rings served with house fries and side salad really lived up to its title.
This is the only family friendly restaurant where we have felt so relaxed, the servers were ultra-child friendly and didn’t mind stopping to explain anything or just chat to them.
Drinks here have free refills and you never had to ask for a refill someone always came when they saw your glass empty and just brought you another one fuss free, none of this trying to catch someone’s attention whilst they are busy serving others. You didn’t feel as if you were being watched or hovered other either which makes the experience so much more relaxing, yet people just seemed to know when you needed something and all of us agreed it was like they could read our minds.

I don’t know how we did it but we made it through the gigantic main courses and felt maybe we could squeeze a desert in there.
I had the Cookie Dough cheesecake which half way through swapped for my sons strawberry delight Sundae as he really like the look of mine too so we both got to sample two sumptuous desserts.
Everyone else went for Sundaes too with the majority choosing Cookies and cream Oreo Sundaes and the dishes were left clean and given the thumbs up, none of us could speak much at this point due to the sheer amount of food we had consumed.
We left full, happy and relaxed and already planning our next visit.
Thanks TGI Fridays Xscape.
