Oulton Hall for naming ceremonies and christenings

Do you know when you have a certain expectation of a venue and you would expect nothing but the best, well this experience was first class and above.
Upon arriving at Oulton Hall I could see that this grand building which is situated in Rothwell, Leeds has been extremely well tended too over the years with the upmost of professional care. The lavish gardens which surround this distinguished building are as green and colourful as anything I have seen before.
The Oulton Hall is a magnificent 18th century mansion 5 miles from Leeds City centre.  As I walked through the grand entrance I was greeted with a smile and what i would class as and spacious reception area, the staff obviously understands the benefits of starting your stay with a warm and friendly welcome, which I think you would agree, does not happen at most lavish venue’s.
I was asked by the Oulton Hall events manager to try the facilities and see what this marvellous venue has to offer. I mean goodness how many other places can boast a recent £9 million refurbishment with a 27 whole championship standard golf course. This is accompanied with on site leisure and beauty facilities not just for the mums but for dads too the venue offers so much and prices are more than affordable.
Idyllic venue for christening & naming ceremonies.
For naming ceremonies & christenings there is a stunning suite suitable for up to 50 people to enjoy a sit down meal, or 100 to 120 for a buffet. The suite opens up onto a terrace ideal for photographs which is enclosed for children to play safely, which I truly think any parent would agree is a major plus at any event they attend. I mean you don’t want to be trying to find your children constantly and you can rest assure that the little ones are in very safe surroundings.
Alternatively I was shown another room for larger numbers called the Claret Jug, well designed and a superbly spacious room which caters for up to 150 people overlooking the magnificent golf courses this venue has to offer its guest’s.
Oulton Hall also offers Christening Afternoon tea menus at £20.50 per person which include a selection of finger sandwiches, scones & Yorkshire tea loaf.
Alternatively High tea is also available at £19.99 per person which includes rhubarb trifle, Yorkshire Rarebit , Pork Pies amongst other tasty treats  all accompanied by a fine blend tea.
Two buffet menus are available.
Buffet Menu A
Serves, mini-beef burgers, salad, chicken skewers, pizza and plenty more fine treats.
Buffet Menu B
Serves , shepherd pie, minted potatoes, east coast prawns, selection of crème brulees and plenty of other fine foods. This menu is priced at £26.00 per person.

My husband and I had our evening meal in the Calvary Grill restaurant; this room provided such a sophisticated and top class dining experience.  We were shown to our table by a member of staff and seated. After viewing the seasonal three course menu we decided upon the following three options. For our starter dish we had requested a soup that was not on the menu, this appeared to be no problem for the staff that catered perfectly for us. For our main course I had a chicken dish and my husband had pork with mash and vegetables both dishes were presented well and tasted exquisite.   For our desert i had a chocolate tarte which was incredibly indulgent and my husband had a strawberry cheese cake which looked and to be honest tasted far too good to be eaten.
Another option for evening meal is The Claret Jug  which offers more of a pub lunch menu  for a more relaxed alternative to end your day.
After our meal we both headed back to our room, the room was a traditional style and the bed was unbelievably comfortable with plenty of pillows unlike some hotels. In our room we had two bathrobes with VIP embroidered on the back; this was a nice touch and made me smile.
After an excellent night’s sleep we headed down to the restaurant which provides the breakfast, a relaxed self service which is ideal for children. You can have a choice of continental break or a traditional English breakfast, further to this you can order kippers, boiled and poached eggs. The breakfast tasted again excellent and i and my husband left that morning feeling pleasantly full.
I looked at many aspects of the hotel and this is somewhere I would without a doubt visit again it is excellent for not just the mums and dads but also the children as the environment is so relaxed. Staffs are friendly helpful and reliable making your stay that little bit more special.
For a special treat the Champagne bar offers Afternoon tea set in the grandeur of this magnificent hotel. As we left the hotel I felt happy and relaxed and i have seen just what can be achieved when a company puts itself out to make your experience better in every way.
