Xscape Castleford a great day out

We visited in August and as well as all the usual attractions there was xscape island a man made beach where children and adults play & take part in games, relax in a deck chair & even purchase slush drinks at the slush bar on the beach.
Kids could even take part in a treasure hunt which had us all running around looking high and low for clues and doing a spot of shopping whilst we did. At the end the children got a souvenir xscape Frisbee as a reward.
After all the fun on the beach we headed to laser zone for some serious fun.
Adrenaline was pumping as we all had such a blast running around the multi level arena zapping the opposition and unfortunately my own team mates (not very impressed with me)
Whilst there if you can escape the enemy pop into the zappit zone and have your picture taken mid battle, which you can purchase after your match as a photo, keyring,or magnet for just £2.99.
Laze zone also do fantastic Birthday parties, book a gold package Mon-Fri. for an extra game of lase tag for free.
Also available for stag & hen parties, corporate entertainment, youth & student groups.

Or go to www.lazerzone.co.uk for more details and to book.
Next stop was Bowplex where I was determined to win a game. We had a lane booked and were able to get  straight on very fuss free.
We changed into our snazzy shoes and let the kids have some money for the newest Arcade machines and then the game began.
An hour and plenty of fun later I came away at the bottom of the leader board again.
After all that exercise a sit down and a nice meal is what we needed we had a table booked at Bella Italia just one of the many places to eat at xscape.
The food here was tasty when it finally arrived and with hungry children the wait can be pretty stressful, unfortunately they didn’t have any crayons or kids packs to keep the children occupied.
For desserts the boys ordered  a “God father” a massive mountain of ice cream, chocolate sauce, brownie pieces, everything naughty but nice, We were told whilst ordering that they had run out of cream so instead they gave us an extra scoop of ice cream. The tasty Italian lattes finished the meal off nicely
I do think Bella Italia would benefit from free refills on soft drinks as many of the other restaurants offer.
The children’s meals also could do with being larger or 2 sizes offered for the younger child and pre teen maybe.
All in all it was a good experience just not great and a little pricey compared to the other restaurants in xscape.
Our night was completed with a trip to cineworld where we chilled out in extremely comfortable seating to watch the summer blockbuster Cars 2.
I would highly recommend xscape for a great family day out this October half term; just remember to take a full wallet.
Special thanks to xscape for making this day possible.
